Dr. Sidique Gawusu holds a PhD in Energy and Power Engineering (Engineering Thermophysics) from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, China, and is currently pursuing a further Master of Science degree in Engineering Management at the Johns Hopkins University, USA. He has research interests and publications in intersecting areas across applied and computational mathematics, blockchain, energy, sustainability, and public policy. In particular, he is interested in the application of blockchain technology to energy systems. His work in this area has the potential to revolutionize the way we generate, distribute, and consume energy, with applications in renewable energy, grid management, and energy trading. Dr. Gawusu has contributed significantly to the United Nations Environment Programme’s Global Environment Outlook (GEO-6) for Youth and the BRICS Youth Energy Agency's BRICS Energy Outlook as the lead researcher, informing policymakers and governments, and providing valuable insights and recommendations on the environment, energy, and sustainability.
Dr. Abubakari Ahmed is currently a Lecturer at the SD Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies, Ghana. His research focuses primarily on sustainable generation, distribution, and consumption of energy, with a particular emphasis on energy economics, renewable energy markets, and energy trading. Dr. Ahmed has made significant contributions to the field, publishing his work in reputable journals such as Trends in Ecology and Evolution and Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews. He has over 40 publications and has co-edited three books. Dr. Ahmed is a recipient of several international awards and grants, including the prestigious Green Talent Award for the best young sustainability scientist by the German government and the Alexander von Humboldt fellowship. He has also been awarded the Social Science Research Council grant and the International Foundation for Science individual grant.
