Implementing voice over IP

Until comparatively recently, the majority of traffic over communications networks was made up of circuit-switched voice calls. Soon, however, the amount of voice traffic will be dwarfed by the huge volume of packet-switched data (including text and audio files, streaming video, etc). Public and private networks will then be configured in such a way that all voice calls are routed using Internet protocols. This book reviews existing and emerging technologies for voice over IP and provides detailed guidance on how to engineer an efficient VoIP network. It also discusses quality of service (QoS) enforcement techniques.
